The Top of the World hike is a 2.2-mile, moderately difficult trail in Laguna Beach’s Aliso and Wood Canyon Wilderness Park. The total elevation is 1,207 feet, with approximately 862 feet of elevation gain. Parking is limited near the trailhead. It takes an average of 1 hour and 36 minutes to complete this moderately difficult route. This trail is ideal for hiking and jogging, and it is unlikely that you will encounter many people while exploring.
The trail is accessible throughout the year and is beautiful at all times. Dogs are permitted, though they must be on a leash. The trailhead provides a limited number of parking spaces. If the parking lot at the main trailhead is full, you can bypass it by taking Alta Laguna Boulevard directly to the Top of the World to take in the view.
The trailhead provides a limited number of parking spaces. If the parking lot at the main trailhead is full, you can bypass it by taking Alta Laguna Boulevard directly to the Top of the World to take in the view. This is not a good option for a hike immediately following heavy rain, as the trail may be closed due to mud. This trail leads directly to the Top of the World viewpoint and is a shorter alternative for viewing the scenery.
Top of the World offers some of the best views in Laguna Beach, where you will find Alta Laguna Park and the trailhead for Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.
