Laguna Hills High School (LHHS) is a public high school in Laguna Hills, California. The goal of Laguna Hills High School is to offer a challenging and approachable curriculum in a small-school, “family” setting. LHHSS educates their students for college and careers by encouraging creativity, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities. This will provide their students the tools they need to improve the world through respect for one another and multicultural understanding. The Golden-Bell Award-Winning Two-Way Language Immersion Program is one of the creative programs of the school.

The four comprehensive high schools in the SVUSD have generally had lower API scores than LHHS, which had a score of 838 in 2007, which was 17 points more than the next-highest school, and an API score of 854 in 2008, which was among the highest in the county. Moreover, in Newsweek’s ranking of the nation’s top 1,300 high schools, LHHS came in at number 613, placing it in the top 3% of all institutions. LHHS has also received numerous recognitions as a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School.

LHHS offers several curricular, service, and non-Curricular clubs. Some of the school’s curricular clubs include California Scholarship Federation, Computer Science Club, Film Club, Gaming Club, Hawks International Thespian Society Club, NanoTechnology Club, Nest News, and many more. On the other hand, non-curricular clubs include Asian Student Union, Board game club, Chess Club, Disney Club, Dungeons and Dragons Club, Genshin Impact Theory Crafting and Discussion, LHHS Book Club, Skateboarding Club, and Table Tennis Club.

National Honor Society

A select group of roughly 50 juniors and seniors make up the Laguna Hills High School National Honor Society. The three NHS pillars of Leadership, Academics, and Service are exemplified by NHS students, who are the best of the school. Candidates must attend a required information meeting in the spring semester where they will learn how to submit an application. Members will be chosen by a faculty committee with a majority vote, and candidates will be compared to the pool of existing applicants. Once a student has been chosen for NHS, it is anticipated that they will remain a member as long as they uphold the requirements for membership. Members of the LHHS National Honor Society who successfully complete their membership requirements will get a seal on their diploma and wear a stole designating them as Honor Society members at graduation. Numerous scholarship opportunities may also be advantageous to students.
