The Irvine Spectrum Area is an outdoor shopping center created by the Irvine Company and located on the southeastern edge of Irvine, California in the Irvine Spectrum region. The shopping center contains Nordstrom and Target department stores, a Ferris wheel, and a 21-screen Regal Cinemas movie theater. The first phase of the center was completed in 1995, while the second phase was completed in 1998. In 2002, the third phase was completed. Between 2005 and 2006, the fourth and fifth phases were developed and completed. In the Disney Channel television series Austin and Ally, the mall was used for establishing shots of the fictional “Mall of Miami.”
